Gifts to Give

Picture
Click on image to learn more about Gifts to Give
At its simplest, volunteers process donated children’s items which get inspected, cleaned, organized and packaged into individual gift packages which are then gifted to local children-in-need, but it’s more than that. Gifts To Give gives young people from all backgrounds the opportunity to learn and understand that through their “doing”, the power of giving, and service and that we all have gifts to give.

Helder will be organizing a group tour of Gifts to Give and will coordinate for those that would like to volunteer their time to help this great organization.

All volunteers are important.  No position is too great or too small, whether you are collecting donations, passing out flyers, making  gift baskets, or   helping in other ways.   There is always some way we can use your help.   Even if you are not able to attend meetings, there are tasks that will need to be done and we could use you from the comforts of your home.

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. There is no cure for ALS yet.
Brian J. Woolley, 52, of New Bedford, died Tuesday October 20, 2009 at home after a courageous battle with ALS. He was the best friend and husband of Maureen G. (Quann) Woolley; they had been married for 32 years. He was dedicated to his wife, children, family and his dog Coconut.
Mr. Woolley was the founder of Wasted Away, (now C.L.E.A.N.), a neighborhood environmental activist group. In 2008, he was honored as the Standard-Times Man of the Year. As co-founder and Skipper of the Nautical Whalers Parrot Head Club, he was involved in several community service events. He was a cancer survivor who participated in the Relay for Life.
